Inspire, educate and create through music

Hope Through Song is a non-profit  organization designed to Inspire, Educate, and Create through music. Our vision is to expose people suffering from lupus, fibromyalgia, chronic pain and the many other autoimmune diseases to music and help them find a way to use it as a  creative and therapeutic outlet. Our first project is “Sing For A Cure”. Project sing for a cure will be an album written, produced, and performed by people who have or are directly effected by someone who has a chronic condition. Music is universal and it is our goal to touch as many people as possible to let them know they are not alone. It is also our hope that we educate people about the many, many chronic illnesses and the many, many, different auto-immune diseases out there.

Hope Through Song also holds annual auditions where the board will select one individual a year to receive a performance and recording contract. Along with that amazing opportunity will come  the knowledge they need to use music as a means of therapy, creativity, or as a beginning of a career in the music industry. We will help each contracted artist find a way suited to their individual situation and help to incorporate music in to their life.  Too many creative talented people are turned away from being allowed to fulfill their musical dreams whatever they may be because Lupus and these other diseases are so misunderstood, or because they don’t realize that there is hope after diagnosis. Yes life is painful, overwhelming, scary and confusing but if we all stand up together and share our stories we can help people change life’s and make a difference.

There are three steps we take when considering who to award a recording and performance contract to. Each step is designed to help create the real life experiences you receive when truly seeking a recording contract. The contract experience will be a source of inspiration, a way to build and regain self-confidence and a therapeutic and creative outlet.

Being selected to receive a contract is more than just a chance to record music and perform live; Hope Through Song uses it as a catalyst to renew hope, dreams and ambitions that commonly get lost when battling these confusing, painful and scary diseases. The “signed artist” will not only have that renewed sense of self worth and confidence but will also have tools such as a press kit, performing experience, an impressive list of instructors to put on their resume and top notch industry contacts to help them step back into the world or step out for the first time and share their music. The selected artist will also gain knowledge about how to network within the music industry but most importantly make connections with other people going through the same struggles and life situations they are faced with each and everyday. They will be put in contact with local support groups and will be a spokesperson for Hope Through Song during their “artist contract” by either making live appearances, or via the Internet on Hope Through Song’s support community blog. We will also make a donation from the funds raised from the live performance towards the nonprofit organization the “signed artist” chooses.

We welcome anyone with a desire and a passion for music to join us in our fight to spread the word about lupus, fibromyalgia, and all of the other chronic  and autoimmune diseases to apply for a contract, or contact us if you would like to be involved in some other capacity.

It is our dream that in the very near future we will aslo be able to award a college scholarship to someone living with one of these illnesses a chance to go to college and focus on some form of music.
